Cyril Demaria-Bengochea

Head of Private Markets Strategy Julius Baer

Cyril provides clients with private markets research, supports them in their asset allocation in private markets, and helps them forge their views and strategy when investing in this asset class. He also sits on the Private Markets Investment Committee of the bank and works on new products. Julius Baer invests in private market funds, whether closed-end or open-end (‘evergreen’). For the annual flagship programme, they select primary funds dedicated to secondaries and LBO mid-market. For bespoke mandates, they select private market funds for clients. The bank is setting up an internal evergreen private debt fund that matches the liquidity requirements of clients. This is very exciting and has its own operational challenges.

Day 1 | 25th November

9:50 AM Keynote Panel: Evergreen structures and liquidity access: What role do evergreen structures play in achieving diversification, liquidity and operational efficiency in private wealth portfolios?

Evergreen and semi-liquid structures are gaining traction as a way to blend access, adaptability, and operational efficiency for private wealth investors. These vehicles are evolving to accommodate personalised liquidity needs, with innovations such as customised drawdown strategies and dynamic rebalancing mechanisms to enhance investor experience. This session will explore how evergreen funds are being embedded into multi-manager programmes to achieve diversification across vintages, strategies and liquidity tiers, while also addressing the operational challenges that can impede scale.
