Koen is responsible for manager selection for the firm’s fund of funds in private equity, private debt and infrastructure. He also manages three co-investment portfolios and the IBS Vantage Point Co-investment Fund. The firm mainly invests in primary and secondary private equity funds, special situations private debt funds and value-add infrastructure funds. The next fund of funds will be in secondary private equity, and will be a mix of fund commitments, direct co-investments and direct secondary deals that are executed internally. The IBS Private Markets Investments platform has been significantly expanded over the last five years, the most exciting current project being the IBS Vantage Point Co-investment Fund. From that fund, the firm can select co-investments with primary private equity managers across the whole private markets network.

Day 2 | 26th November

12:30 PM Case Study: Strategic co-investment allocation: How wealth managers can leverage co-investments to boost diversification and strengthen GP relationships

As private wealth investors seek greater control, cost efficiency and alignment within their portfolios, co-investments are emerging as a powerful tool to deepen access to high-quality opportunities. Beyond offering faster capital deployment and lower fees, co-investments can strengthen GP relationships, enhance portfolio customisation, and improve visibility into underlying assets. This session will explore how private wealth allocators are using co-investment strategies to broaden exposure and increase diversification. Discover how co-investments are performing in today’s challenging fundraising and credit environments, and what lessons early adopters can offer for building resilient, value-driven allocations.
