Nancy leads both the firm’s Investment Strategy, across traditional and alternative asset classes, and a global investment team of over 50 professionals. AlTI provides endowment style investment expertise to its clients, with access to a wide array of public and private markets, customiwed to the needs, objectives and values of each client. While a “vintage” private equity programme of top quartile, hard to access buyout, growth and venture managers remains a core area of focus, the firm has broadened its private markets opportunity set and today offers clients access to a wide range of asset classes. Nancy works with clients to help them understand and document the purpose of their wealth - with a focus on purpose of capital as a differentiating aspect of client engagement. UHNW investors have more capital than they can spend in multiple lifetimes and are thus increasingly focused on ensuring that their capital allocations align with their legacy ambitions and values as a family.

Designing a private markets portfolio involves navigating trade-offs across liquidity, access, duration, transparency, and return expectations. As wealth managers seek to balance traditional and alternative exposures, the challenge lies in building strategies that optimise allocations across evergreen funds, co-investments, secondaries and SMAs, while also uncovering overlooked or uncorrelated sources of value. An often-underappreciated element is the treatment of uncalled capital and the timing of capital calls, where cash drag and risk allocation can significantly impact long-term performance. This session will explore how allocators are managing these frictions in practice - and how thoughtful portfolio construction can balance returns with flexibility or control.
